About the Role
As a Breakfast Attendant, you will ensure the highest possible level of guest satisfaction by preparing and serving breakfast for hotel guests. You will strive to be a customer champion by delivering excellent service, being attentive to guest needs, and maintaining brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Work a flexible schedule, including early morning start times and weekend availability.
- Maintain professional personal appearance, including wearing proper attire and a nametag while on shift.
- Complete all required company and brand-specific training and/or certifications in a timely manner.
- Courteously engage with, attentively listen to, and respect diverse groups of guests in a professional manner.
- Stay updated on hotel events, including groups and meeting room usage, to handle all foreseen situations effectively.
- Greet guests in a pleasant and courteous manner; provide information regarding local attractions and venues.
- Prepare and display breakfast items according to brand standards in a timely manner.
- Restock and replenish food items as needed during breakfast hours.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and inviting breakfast area; bus and clean tables using proper sanitization methods; sweep floors as needed.
- Practice proper food handling techniques and procedures at all times; maintain a Food Handlers Certificate.
- Check food item quantities daily and communicate shortages without delay.
- Take biweekly inventory of all breakfast items and compare with hotel forecast to ensure proper stock; assist management in ordering supplies.
- Receive and respond to guest comments and suggestions, passing them to property management.
- Properly clean the breakfast area after closing.
- Follow kitchen training standards and adhere to cleaning checklists.
- Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment by following safety and security protocols and complying with hotel policies.
- Know and follow emergency procedures for the hotel; report accidents or personal injury immediately to a supervisor.
- Adhere to master key sign-out protocols and ensure the security of the assigned master key.
- Identify and report lost-and-found items utilizing the hotel's procedures.
- Follow supervisor directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Customer service skills and strong communication abilities.
- Ability to organize, plan ahead, and manage workload.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, efficiency, and under time constraints.
- Work in a standing position for the duration of your shift.
- Push and pull up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Bend, reach, kneel, pivot, and grip items while performing tasks.
- Operate equipment as required by the position.
- Adjust to changing priorities and complete multiple assignments despite interruptions.
