About the Role
Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to join our team as a Breakfast Attendant. This role is responsible for following a daily schedule, performing proper set-up, maintenance, break-down, and cleaning of the breakfast area while providing excellent guest service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain the Breakfast Bar in an attractive, abundant-looking, organized, clean, and standardized presentation, adhering to brand standards at all times.
- Take inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day.
- Assist with the set-up of prepared foods such as fresh fruit, coffee, and juices.
- Set up serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups, and other products.
- Arrange cold food such as sweet rolls, muffins, and cereal.
- Clear and clean tables as they are vacated.
- Remove trash from the service area.
- Restock self-service food and supplies as needed.
- Wash serving equipment and return to proper storage.
- Return reusable food supplies to storage after service.
- Vacuum, sweep carpets, and mop floors.
- Dust, brush, polish, and vacuum furniture.
- Clean room decorations, appliances, and structural surfaces (e.g., wall fixtures, window sills, vents) using appropriate cleaners.
- Inspect areas for safety hazards.
- Check operating conditions of equipment.
- Report lost and found articles per hotel procedure.
- Report maintenance problems (common areas) to the department supervisor and maintenance.
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Complete special daily projects assigned by supervisor/manager.
Requirements
- Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English and effectively communicate with team members and guests.
- Must be able to apply commonsense understanding in carrying out instructions.
- Must be able to utilize and follow a checklist, take inventory of supplies, and convey information to staff and management.
- Must be able to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variation.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be engaging with all guests throughout the breakfast period and respond to guest needs as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Six months of customer service, hotel, or restaurant experience is preferred.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
Physical Demands
- Standing and walking for the entire length of shift.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
