Break Operator
United CoolAir, LLC is an original equipment manufacturer of commercial HVAC equipment, proudly serving customers for over 30 years. We are seeking high-energy, enthusiastic team members with a desire for growth and success to join our Sheet Metal Fabrication team at our York, PA facility.
About the Role
As a Brake Operator, you will utilize CNC press brake equipment and fabrication skills to produce high-quality components used in commercial HVAC equipment. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake equipment while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality products in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and complete daily work assignments according to production schedules and LYNQ.
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC press brake equipment to ensure efficient production.
- Review and verify work orders, drawings, and bending specifications to ensure parts are produced accurately and according to requirements.
- Inspect completed parts to ensure quality standards and dimensional requirements are met.
- Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine machine checks, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure machines are stocked with required tooling and materials.
- Maintain communication with team members and leadership regarding production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues.
- Assist with resolving day-to-day manufacturing challenges to meet production deadlines.
- Cross-train on other fabrication equipment, including CNC laser cutters and punch machines.
- Support other manufacturing departments when equipment downtime or production demands require.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business and production needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience operating CNC press brake equipment or similar automated manufacturing machinery preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Ability to read and interpret production documents, work instructions, and part drawings.
- Ability to work successfully across multiple departments within the organization.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience operating CNC press brakes, laser cutters, or punch presses.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection processes.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, bend allowances, and machine setup procedures.

Schedule
Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
35–40 hours per week
Overtime may be required as needed to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
