About the role

Nugget Markets is looking for dedicated bakery enthusiasts to join our passionate and talented bakery team. This full-time position involves early morning shifts starting at 4:00 am, with potential placement at our West Sacramento, Elk Grove, Davis - Mace, or Davis - Covell locations.

Responsibilities

• Mix and prepare hundreds of hand-formed artisan breads each shift
• Prep produce and deli products for bakery items
• Mix and scale ingredients
• Bench dough and load carts/racks with product
• Lift and stack flour
• Operate kitchen machinery, including ovens, proofers, mixers, and dough dividers
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and attractive work environment
• Assist bakery clerks and provide world-class service to guests as needed

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Basic math skills
• Physical ability to mix hundreds of pounds of dough and form into loaves
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Intermediate product knowledge, including understanding of temperature, chemical reactions, and bakery products
• Basic understanding of the English language (ability to communicate and read instructions, schedules, and signage)
• Passion for consistently producing a great product
• Positive attitude
