Brazer
Role Overview
The Brazer performs a wide variety of assembly, fabrication, production, and operator tasks in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for brazing metal components such as copper and cast-iron pipes or joints by following blueprints and specifications. The Brazer I uses specialized torches and filler rods to heat and bond metal parts while meeting safety, quality, and production standards. This position also supports equipment setup and assists lower-level production employees as needed.

Schedule: Day shift assembly, 4–10 hour shifts (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM). Fridays are required based on production needs. Additional shifts or overtime may be scheduled as needed to meet production demands.

Responsibilities & Key Performance Indicators
- Perform brazing, assembly, and fabrication tasks by reading blueprints and using torches, filler rods, and production equipment while meeting established safety standards
- Set up, adjust, and operate machinery; select materials; perform first-piece inspections; and complete minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
- Maintain product quality by monitoring production, correcting process issues, and achieving company and departmental quality targets, including fewer than four gas leaks per month
- Meet production expectations by completing required brazing practice and cross-training, achieving standard cycle times, and supporting team production goals
- Successfully pass required written and practical brazing exams with a score of 80% or higher while consistently meeting safety, quality, and production KPIs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of four years of progressively complex assembly or fabrication experience
- Ability to operate a variety of production machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of brazing equipment, tools, and processes
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment
- Previous brazing certification or formal brazing training
- Experience meeting production cycle times and quality standards

Hourly Pay & Benefits
The pay range for this position is $[21.95] per hour for Brazer I. These rates represent Hoshizaki America's good-faith estimate of compensation for each level. Candidates should expect placement at the Brazer I level, with higher levels determined by internal qualifications and demonstrated skills. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
