Brand Director
Remote, United States | Full Time, W2 | Reports to VP of Marketing and eCommerce
About the Role
This is a high visibility opportunity for a hands-on brand operator to build and lead the systems that connect strategy, storytelling, and commercial performance. The Brand Director will create the frameworks, operating rhythms, and 12-month roadmap that bring an established positioning and messaging architecture to life across every customer touchpoint. Working closely with Growth, Creative, Acquisition, Product, Lifecycle, and Customer Experience, this leader will strengthen conversion, retention, loyalty, and customer trust while building the foundation for a future brand team. The role offers meaningful ownership, direct access to executive leadership, and the chance to shape enterprise value inside a rapidly scaling business.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and execute a 12-month brand roadmap aligned with the company’s established positioning, differentiation, and messaging architecture.
- Translate brand strategy into scalable operating frameworks, creative guardrails, implementation plans, editorial principles, and cross-functional planning rhythms.
- Steward and continuously refine the brand voice, messaging hierarchy, trust systems, and positioning across paid, owned, organic, and retention channels.
- Serve as the central brand partner across Product, Growth, Creative, Copy, Acquisition, Lifecycle, Customer Experience, founder communications, and executive leadership.
- Own ongoing customer and competitive intelligence through interviews, reviews, surveys, support conversations, community feedback, market sentiment, and category tracking.
- Convert customer insights and ideal customer profiles into clear recommendations that improve product positioning, close trust gaps, and strengthen customer confidence.
- Partner with Growth, Creative, and Acquisition to develop compliant, high-converting narratives that support conversion rate, average order value, lifetime value, subscription retention, and brand equity.
- Guide storytelling for hero products, bundles, new product launches, subscription tiers, landing pages, product detail pages, advertising, email, text messaging, advertorials, social media, and educational funnels.
- Build authority and credibility frameworks using expert voices, scientific education, proof points, customer reassurance, and partnerships with relevant opinion leaders.
- Establish measures of brand health and connect creative and storytelling decisions to commercial performance, branded search growth, share of voice, brand lift, and long-term customer loyalty.
Requirements
- A strong track record of operationalizing brand strategy and building systems that improve customer trust, conversion, retention, and long-term brand value.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive brand leadership experience within direct-to-consumer eCommerce, including cross-functional leadership, agency direction, project leadership, or team mentorship.
- Deep experience in consumables, wellness, food and beverage, beauty, supplements, or another subscription-focused consumer category.
- Demonstrated ability to build practical frameworks, roadmaps, and operating rhythms within a fast-growing or early-stage environment.
- Proven success influencing Growth, Acquisition, Performance Marketing, Creative, and other partners without relying on formal authority.
- Strong analytical fluency and the ability to connect brand and creative work to conversion rate, lifetime value, retention, share of voice, branded search growth, and brand lift.
- Practical experience building credibility and authority systems that increase customer confidence and support conversion.
- Alignment with United States working hours, a reliable remote work environment, and flexibility for limited travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shaping customer education and compliant messaging in a science-led, health, wellness, or regulated consumer category.
- Readiness to build and eventually lead a formal brand team as the organization continues to scale.

Pay
Annual base salary of $120,000 to $145,000, based on experience and location.
