About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Brand Designer, Web, to join our dynamic marketing team. In this pivotal role, you will shape how the Checkr brand is experienced across all digital touchpoints, ensuring a cohesive, engaging, and on-brand web presence. You will collaborate closely with Marketing and Revenue teams, owning our web brand standards and design systems, and translating customer insights into compelling visual narratives. Your expertise will influence how our brand communicates our values, fosters trust, and drives user engagement. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong aesthetic sense, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of in-house or agency experience working on tech or B2B brands
• Outstanding portfolio demonstrating mastery in typography, layout, storytelling, and art direction
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, with experience using AI-assisted tools for production acceleration
• Deep understanding of information architecture, usability, accessibility, and UI/UX best practices
• Experience developing and maintaining brand standards and design systems
• Proven ability to direct contractors or freelance creative work
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to advocate for design decisions at senior levels
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in agile, iterative environments
• A proactive, action-oriented mindset with resilience and ownership qualities
• Front-end coding skills (HTML/CSS) for prototyping or QA purposes (Nice to have)
• Experience in illustration, photography, or art direction (Nice to have)
• Background in HR tech, trust and safety, or identity verification products (Nice to have)
• Mentoring or providing creative direction to other designers (Nice to have)

Responsibilities

• Design polished, brand-forward web experiences aligned with customer and business objectives across all marketing channels
• Own and evolve the company's web brand standards, guidelines, and design systems to ensure consistency and scalability
• Scope, prioritize, and manage multiple design initiatives and projects within tight deadlines
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Revenue teams to maintain brand consistency across all digital touchpoints
• Provide creative direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to other designers working on web and brand projects
• Present and advocate for design choices persuasively to peers and senior leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
• Identify opportunities for user testing, hypothesize improvements, and run experiments to enhance the web experience
• Ground design decisions in a comprehensive understanding of customer personas and user journeys
