About the role

Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient. From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. We’re rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on by replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending. This role offers the opportunity to shape a brand at the intersection of American industry, climate, and the economy, working alongside a creative director and cross-functional teams to define and execute brand expressions across diverse form factors—from digital campaigns to physical artifacts like zines, newspapers, and merchandise.

You’ll share responsibility for the brand’s evolution, help define what a brand team looks like in the age of AI, and build tools (like Claude Skills) to scale your impact. The role demands a high bar for narrative and craft, whether you’re creating work directly, directing contractors, or enabling teammates. You’ll report to the Creative Director and collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Design, and other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the narrative: Collaborate with project teams to uncover the story and ensure writing, imagery, and layout serve it.
  • Make the abstract tangible: Create prototypes, mockups, or printed samples to help the team visualize possibilities.
  • Produce brand work: Design and execute across website, email, editorial, merchandise, events, microsites, and product integrations.
  • Scale your work: Determine when to create one-off assets versus templates or Claude Skills to reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Direct external creators: Brief and evaluate work from illustrators, photographers, printers, and fabricators.
  • Maintain brand systems: Keep Figma libraries, Sanity components, and brand documentation up-to-date and useful.
  • Advance the brand: Partner with the creative director to mature the brand through iterative expressions.
  • Enable the team: Build tools and systems (e.g., Claude Skills, templates) so others at Ambrook can produce on-brand work independently.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of mid-level to senior experience creating brand work.
  • Obsession with craft: Attention to details like kerning, line breaks, whitespace, and art direction.
  • Figma mastery: Proficiency with auto layout, components, design systems, and tools like Figma Motion or agents for automation.
  • Range across physical and digital: Experience shipping print, merchandise, environmental work, and digital marketing (web, email).
  • Builder mindset: Comfort implementing work in CMS, codebases (using Claude Code or Niteshift), or collaborating with print vendors.
  • AI experience: Hands-on with AI tools (e.g., Claude Skills) to automate workflows and reclaim time for high-value work.
  • Exceptional project management: Ability to organize yourself and others, set deadlines, and manage vendors using tools like Linear.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Proactively gather context and requirements to propose the best path forward for nascent ideas.
  • Collaborative: Work effectively across disciplines, as brand touches every team at Ambrook.

Bonus: Experience with motion design or scrappy tools like Figma Motion or Jitter.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Health insurance.
  • 401(k) with matching contribution.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Flexible vacation time.
  • Flexible work hours.
  • Work-from-home/remote office stipend or desk at Ambrook’s NYC, SF, or Denver office.
  • Wellness stipend.
  • Professional development stipend.

Values

  • Reach Understanding: Driven by curiosity and empathy to learn about customers, team, and world.
  • Real Talk: Create space for straightforward, vulnerable, and accountable communication.
  • Be Proactively Resourceful: Internally motivated and externally empowered to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Derisk Thoughtfully: Address the biggest risks systematically.
  • Find the Positive-Sum: Align the needs of company, customers, and planet through incentive structures.
