About the role

Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient. From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. We are rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on by replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending. This gives owners the data they need to prove viability to lenders and the next generation, empowering them to make confident investments in their future.

We’re a Series B startup backed by Lachy Groom, Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Cameron Ventures, and leaders at Notion, Gusto, and Vercel. We’re looking for team members to help untangle the intersection of American industry, climate, and the economy.

You’ll report to Ali Aas, our Creative Director, inside the Brand team, working closely with Marketing, Product Design, and other cross-functional teams. You’ll own narrative and craft, setting a high bar for both across all work you’re accountable for—whether you create it, direct a contractor, enable a teammate, or build the agent that produces it.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the narrative: Work with teams to find the story, then make writing, images, and layout serve it.
  • Show the team what’s possible: Make the abstract tangible through prototypes, mockups, or printed samples.
  • Make the work: Website, email, editorial, merchandise, event experiences, microsites, brand moments inside the product, and whatever the next idea needs. As a small team, you’ll have your hands in everything.
  • Work the way that scales: Decide when to create one-off work versus templates or Claude Skills to avoid repetitive requests.
  • Direct the people who make things: Brief illustrators, photographers, printers, and fabricators, then evaluate their output.
  • Maintain our brand systems: Keep Figma libraries, Sanity components, and brand documentation useful and up-to-date.
  • Build the Claude Skills, templates, and evals that let anyone at Ambrook produce work that represents the brand well.
  • Drive brand evolution: Work with the creative director to mature and advance the brand, one expression at a time.

Requirements

  • Mid-level to senior experience: 4+ years making brand work.
  • Craft: You fixate on details like kerning, line breaks, whitespace, and the exact right art.
  • Figma master: Proficient with auto layout, components, design systems, and using agents to handle busywork (e.g., cleaning up layer names) or advanced tasks (e.g., animating with Figma Motion).
  • Range across physical and digital: Experience with print production, merchandise, environmental work, web, email, and digital marketing. You’ve shipped both.
  • Builder mindset: You don’t just sketch—you make things real, whether in a CMS, codebase (using Claude Code or Niteshift), or on a call with a print vendor about ink coverage.
  • AI experience: You’ve built with AI, not just used it. Share what you’ve automated and how you spent the time it saved.
  • Exceptional project management: Organize yourself and others, set deadlines, keep vendors on schedule, and use tools like Linear without being asked.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: Take the seed of an idea, gather context, and propose the best path forward.
  • Collaborative: Brand touches every team, so you work well across disciplines to get things done.

Bonus: Experience with motion or scrappy tools like Figma Motion or Jitter.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) with matching contribution
  • Paid parental leave
  • Flexible vacation time
  • Flexible work hours
  • Work-from-home/remote office stipend, or a desk at Ambrook's NYC, SF, or Denver office
  • Wellness stipend
  • Professional development stipend

Values

  • Reach Understanding: Driven by curiosity and empathy to learn about our customers, team, and world.
  • Real Talk: Create space for straightforward, vulnerable, and accountable conversations.
  • Be Proactively Resourceful: Internally motivated and externally empowered to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Derisk Thoughtfully: Lean into the biggest risks and address them systematically.
  • Find the Positive-Sum: Create incentive structures that align the needs of our company, customers, and planet.
