About the role

Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient. From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. While sustainable investments often yield the best long-term returns, they require financial clarity and capital that fragmented legacy systems can’t provide. We are rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on. By replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending, Ambrook gives owners the data they need to prove viability to lenders and the next generation. We empower the stewards of land and labor to make confident investments in their future.

You’d share responsibility for where the brand goes, working alongside our creative director. You’d work across form factors—website, campaigns, lifecycle—and unique projects like zines, newspapers, matchboxes, and sweaters. You’d help define what a brand team looks like in the age of AI, building Claude Skills to scale your impact and free up time for high-craft work. You’d report to Ali Aas, our Creative Director, collaborating with Marketing, Product Design, and cross-functional teams to own narrative and craft.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the narrative: Collaborate with project teams to find the story, then craft writing, imagery, and layout to serve it.
  • Make the abstract tangible: Create prototypes, mockups, or printed samples to help the team visualize possibilities.
  • Produce work across mediums: Website, email, editorial, merchandise, event experiences, microsites, in-product brand moments, and experimental formats.
  • Build scalable systems: Decide when to create one-off work versus templates, Claude Skills, or other reusable tools.
  • Direct external creators: Brief and evaluate illustrators, photographers, printers, and fabricators to ensure brand alignment.
  • Maintain brand systems: Keep Figma libraries, Sanity components, and brand documentation up-to-date and useful.
  • Enable the team: Develop tools, templates, and agents so others at Ambrook can produce on-brand work independently.
  • Drive brand evolution: Partner with the creative director to mature and advance the brand through iterative expressions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of mid-level to senior experience in brand work.
  • Obsession with craft: Attention to details like kerning, line breaks, whitespace, and art direction.
  • Figma mastery: Expertise in auto layout, components, design systems, and tools like Figma Motion.
  • Range across physical and digital: Experience shipping print, merchandise, environmental work, web, email, and digital marketing.
  • Builder mindset: Comfort implementing work in CMS, codebases (via Claude Code/Niteshift), or collaborating with print vendors.
  • AI experience: Built automations or Claude Skills; can articulate what you automated and how you reinvested the time saved.
  • Exceptional project management: Self-organized, sets deadlines, manages vendors, and uses tools like Linear without prompting.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Translates vague ideas into actionable plans using data, team input, and research.
  • Collaborative: Works effectively across disciplines, as brand touches every team at Ambrook.

Bonus: Motion design experience or scrappy proficiency with tools like Figma Motion or Jitter.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) with matching contribution
  • Paid parental leave
  • Flexible vacation time
  • Flexible work hours
  • Remote work stipend or desk at Ambrook’s NYC, SF, or Denver office
  • Wellness stipend
  • Professional development stipend

Values

  • Reach Understanding: Driven by curiosity and empathy to learn about customers, team, and world.
  • Real Talk: Create space for straightforward, vulnerable, and accountable communication.
  • Be Proactively Resourceful: Internally motivated and externally empowered to identify opportunities and solve problems.
  • Derisk Thoughtfully: Address the biggest risks systematically.
  • Find the Positive-Sum: Align the needs of company, customers, and planet through incentive structures.
