Brand and Content Strategist
About the role
Dust is looking for a senior Brand and Content Strategist to define how our story comes to life and build the content engine behind it. You will turn Dust’s product innovation, customer outcomes, company priorities, and the emerging AI Operator movement into stories and programs that earn attention, build the brand, and advance the business. This is a strategy-led role with a strong editorial point of view and real ownership of execution. You will create flagship work yourself while building the systems and creative network that allow Dust’s storytelling to scale. You will start as a senior individual contributor, with the opportunity to build a team as the function grows. It’s a rare opportunity to shape how a category-defining AI company shows up across the US and Europe while the market, and the conventions for communicating within it, are still being formed.
Responsibilities
- Define Dust’s global brand and content strategy
- Own the content program across social, video, customer, community, and editorial channels, from strategic direction through execution
- Decide which stories Dust should tell, who they are for, and where they should show up
- Translate Dust’s company narrative and positioning into a distinctive content strategy for the US and Europe
- Develop a content roadmap around company priorities, audience needs, market opportunities, and gaps across the funnel
- Establish the voice, editorial standards, and creative principles that make Dust’s content recognizable and trusted
- Build the stories and programs that compound:
- Turn product launches, customer outcomes, company milestones, and market shifts into stories that earn attention and deepen understanding
- Make customer storytelling a flagship, multi-format program
- Champion the AI Operators who are rewiring how work gets done inside their companies
- Tell the story of how Dust runs on Dust and develop compelling programs with customers and ecosystem partners
- Scale storytelling through others:
- Create a customer and partner co-marketing engine that builds credibility and deepens relationships
- Enable voices across Dust, from engineering to go-to-market, to contribute authentic, public-facing stories
- Develop the playbooks, briefs, workflows, and creative network needed to produce high-quality content consistently and at scale
- Build content operations on Dust and set the standard for an AI-powered content function
- Connect content to business outcomes:
- Define success across awareness, audience growth, engagement, influence, and qualified demand
- Establish the measurement systems needed to understand which stories, formats, and channels are working, and use those insights to continually refine the strategy
- Partner with product marketing, growth, comms, community, and field marketing on launches and integrated programs
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of content or brand strategy experience at a fast-growing B2B software company
- A track record of building a brand people genuinely care about, with the mindset of a media company operating inside a marketing organization
- A strong grasp of modern distribution, including social-first content, LinkedIn dynamics, video, community, and creator-style playbooks in an enterprise context
- Exceptional storytelling skills across a wide range of formats and topics, with the ability to make complex technology clear, credible, and compelling
- A strong connection between content and business results, using both qualitative and quantitative signals to decide what to create next
- The ability to scale through others by building productive relationships with cross-functional teammates, customers, agencies, and freelancers, and creating systems that outlast any single piece of content
- Deep fluency in and curiosity about AI. You’ll run your own function on Dust and speak the language of our buyers and users
- Based in New York or San Francisco
Scope notes
To be explicit about the boundaries with adjacent functions, this role does not own:
- Co-founder presence, executive thought leadership, PR, or communications. These are owned by our Comms & Ecosystem Lead, and you’ll collaborate closely on narrative alignment
- Core product marketing or positioning
- Growth experimentation or paid acquisition
Schedule
We have an office-first culture at our offices in Paris, San Francisco, and New York. Some of the best things about building at Dust happen because we are in the same room, including energy, fast decisions, and unexpected conversations that unlock hard problems. Being together is not a formality; it is how we do our best work. That said, we trust you to manage your time and work from home when it makes sense for the day’s tasks.
About Dust
The models are powerful enough. What's missing is the product layer where AI meets how companies actually work. That's what we're building: the infrastructure that lets any team turn scattered knowledge and tools into coordinated execution with agents they build, own, and run themselves. We use Dust ourselves every day. We get to shape how humans and agents collaborate while solving our own problems with the product we ship. That loop is rare, and it's why we move fast.
Dust is backed by Sequoia with a determined team of optimists (coming from Stripe, OpenAI, and Stanford) who like to focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously while doing so. We're serving great customers like Datadog, 1Password, Cursor, Clay, Vanta, and Persona, and aim to x5 our growth by the end of 2026. The Generalist named us among the Future 50.
