SUMMARY
Next STEP is a collaborative, 7-12 academic program located in the Longley Building. It partners with Lewiston Middle School to offer the "Dreamchaser Fellowship," supporting a new cohort of LMS students every trimester. The program focuses on specific themes culminating in community-wide events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches District-approved curriculum
- Instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times
- Plans a program of study meeting individual student needs, interests, and abilities
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records, and preparing progress reports
- Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
- Supervises classroom and students
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Teaching Certificate and endorsements
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, peers, and parents
- Skilled in oral and written communication

- Frequent standing, talking, hearing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Moderate to loud noise levels
WORK ENVIRONMENT

PAY AND BENEFITS
The salary range for SY26/27 is $45,518.26 - $85,857.57.
