Alternative School Teacher

Essential Functions

• Counsels parents, students, and counselors (e.g. create goals, evaluate progress, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the instructional process.
• Instructs students (e.g. create/implement lesson plans for all subjects, etc.) for the purpose of improving their success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills.
• Interacts with a variety of school personnel (e.g. ISS Aide, Counselor, Psychologist, Principal, Teachers, etc.) for the purpose of advocating on behalf of potential and current Program participants.
• Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing written reference; and/or meeting mandated requirements.
• Participates in a variety of meetings (e.g. hearings, evaluation meetings, staff meetings, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remaining knowledgeable with program guidelines.
• Processes new students (e.g. conduct evaluations, creates goals, etc.) for the purpose of enrolling and orienting them to programs.
• Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. parents, counselors, outside agencies, probation officers, etc.) for the purpose of solving problems, providing information and/or referral.
• Supervises classroom for the purpose of maintaining order with at-risk students prone to violence.

• IVP (Identity Verified Print) Fingerprint Clearance Card
