Branch Specialist Color Blender
About the role
This position works closely with commercial paint customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, recommend solutions, prepare customer orders including blending initial batches and making shade adjustments, and promptly resolve any customer concerns to ensure maximum satisfaction. The role also involves staying up-to-date with product features and maintaining high quality and visual standards. You will work at Store #702221 located at 6741 W Sunrise Blvd, Suite 1, Plantation, Florida 33313.
This is a full-time position involving customer interaction, handling cash and payments, accessing electronic equipment, and managing store merchandise and personal information. A criminal history review is required to protect the business, its operations, and the safety of customers and staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customer orders, including blending initial batches, making shade adjustments, filling, and labeling.
- Make shade and gloss adjustments to meet customer requirements.
- Prepare spray-out and draw-down test panels.
- Expense mistints daily.
- Establish and maintain accurate customer work order files and formulas.
- Ensure customers' quality and service expectations are met.
- Clean and repair store equipment; identify equipment problems and make recommendations.
- Operate material handling, tinting, mixing, and testing equipment safely.
- Properly store all partial containers in correct inventory locations.
- Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.
- Identify potential obsolete/damaged material and handle per established policy/procedures.
- Maintain daily clean-up of lab, product service room, and equipment.
- Maintain facility to Sherwin-Williams standards through proper maintenance, repair, and housekeeping.
- Identify facility problems and make recommendations.
- Follow designated loss prevention, security, and safety practices; correct or report non-compliance.
- Take immediate action to contain spills using hazardous material containment procedures as outlined in the Work Safe Manual, including proper reporting.
- Handle, store, label, clean up spills, dispose of, and file paperwork for hazardous materials/waste.
Additional Duties
- Assist with general warehouse, delivery, and customer service duties as needed, including loading/unloading material and serving customers.
- Operate POS for all types of transactions.
- Know stock limits and be familiar with stock order procedures.
- Assist with physical inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for an employment work visa now or in the future.
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one (1) year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products.
- Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
