Branch Specialist Color Blender
About the role
This position works closely with commercial paint customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about Sherwin-Williams products, recommend the right solutions, prepare customer orders including blending initial batch, and making shade adjustments. Branch Color Blender Specialists are also expected to promptly resolve any customer concerns and ensure maximum client satisfaction as well as stay up-to-date with product features and maintain the high quality and visual standards of the products and store.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customer orders, including blending initial batch, making shade adjustments, filling and labeling batches.
- Make shade and gloss adjustments to meet customer requirements.
- Prepare spray-out and draw-down test panels.
- Expense mistints daily.
- Establish and maintain accurate customer work order files and formulas.
- Ensure customers' quality and service expectations are met.
- Clean and repair store equipment.
- Identify equipment problems and made recommendations.
- Operate all material handling, tinting, mixing and testing equipment in a safe manner.
- Properly store all partial containers to correct inventory location.
- Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.
- Identify potential obsolete/damaged material and handle per established policy/procedures.
- Maintain daily clean up of lab, product service room and equipment.
- Maintain facility to S-W standards through proper maintenance, repair and housekeeping.
- Identify facility problems and make recommendations.
- Follow designated loss prevention, security and safety practices according to policy and correct or report non-compliance of appropriate procedures/policies.
- Take immediate action to contain spillage using hazardous material containment procedures as outlined in the Work Safe Manual, including proper and timely reporting.
Additional duties include assisting with general warehouse, delivery and customer service duties as needed, operating POS for all types of transactions, knowing stock limits and being familiar with stock order procedure, and assisting with physical inventory.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements include being at least 18 years old, having a valid driver's license, and being legally authorized to work in the country of employment. The candidate must also be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
- Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred qualifications include having a high school diploma or GED, having at least one year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position, and having previous work experience selling paint and paint related products.
