Branch Sales Manager

Financially accountable for market sales plans, recruitment strategies, branch budget, Profit & Loss (P&L) management, and cost control. This role involves recruiting, training, managing, and developing top talent in the branch team while delivering top-notch customer service to candidates and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a plan to grow and retain existing accounts, develop new clients, and win back lost/lapsed accounts.
  • Ensure all agreed-upon client requirements (operational and contractual) are completed in line with SLA targets.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through regular communication and business reviews with clients and program teams.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Client, Procurement, Operations, and HR Managers to discuss issues or requests involving the client program and associates.
  • Survey clients regarding their perception of service and identify opportunities for further growth of existing accounts.
  • Work closely with sales/upper management to understand the client’s business, staffing needs, culture, and program expectations.
  • Responsible for client retention while maximizing fill rate, time to fill, and ensuring high NPS scores.
  • Prepare and present monthly/quarterly business reviews to the vertical Director and/or VP.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of economic trends in target industries and changes affecting local businesses.
  • Set and monitor pay and bill rates based on skill categories.
  • Seek and act upon candidate and associate feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • On-board new customers, including terms and conditions, risk and credit assessment, pay and bill rate negotiation, temp-to-perm conversion schedule, and direct hire fees.
  • Ensure proper credit references are obtained and client credit limits are established according to guidelines.
  • Manage day-to-day colleague performance (sourcing, submittals, interviews, etc.), including coaching and development, to ensure all service levels and performance metrics are met.
  • Coach, train, and mentor Recruiters.
  • Proactively review and monitor processes/procedures and implement improvements to reduce service costs while meeting KPIs and SLAs.
  • Manage branch P&L and exercise cost control decisions.
  • Develop and implement branch revenue and expense forecasts.
  • Establish a budget and assist with developing short and long-range growth plans for the branch(s).
  • Monitor the branch’s workers’ compensation and unemployment claims to minimize exposure and resulting expenses.
  • Ensure all federal, state, and local notices and licenses are current and posted.
  • Perform collection of all outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Facilitate monthly one-on-one meetings with all direct reports to review KPI metrics, overall performance, and career goals.
  • Conduct branch audits (e.g., job order accuracy, lost and canceled job orders, credit check compliance).
  • Create a positive work environment measured by Peakon scores.
  • Maintain T&C renewal timelines in the PROPER system of record and CSSE management.
  • Develop branch recruitment strategies by building a digital presence and local relationships with recruiting resources (colleges, Work Source centers, trade schools, and grassroots).
  • Participate in recruiting activities as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Two years of direct sales experience with a proven track record measured by increased responsibilities.
  • Sales experience within a personnel service organization is preferred.
  • One year of supervisory/management experience with a sales or service-oriented staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in writing and orally in one-on-one and group discussions and presentations.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to set priorities, schedule daily events, make cold calls, prepare and give formal presentations.
  • Working knowledge of labor and employment laws.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle numerous problems simultaneously.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
  • People management experience.
  • Proven ability to develop business opportunities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Pay

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $64,529 - $118,304. Compensation varies based on experience, education, key skills, and geographic location. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation based on achievements outlined in the compensation plan.
