Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates product assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.
  • Inspects products to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Examines suppliers' records to secure information such as size, weight of product, and results of quality tests.
  • Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company’s quality control system, legal requirements, and shipping/packing facility standards.
  • Stamps marks of approval or rejection on products and writes reports of examinations.
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions or changes.
  • Performs process mapping to identify efficiencies in procedures.
  • Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supplier quality, capacity, and standards.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or five years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
  • Ability to read, write, and fluently speak English.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate concepts of moderate to high difficulty.
  • Proficiency with common PC programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to learn the mainframe program (Metalware).
  • Ability to perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to handle standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
