Under the general supervision of the Branch Operations Staff Supervisor, the Branch Operations Technician is part of a team responsible for providing public and collection maintenance services within Branch Operations Services.
Schedule
Work schedule during academic quarters is Monday – Friday, 9:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. May be scheduled days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Schedule may vary during interims and summer quarter.
Responsibilities
- Collection Maintenance – including record updates, stacks maintenance, preservation review, and processing course reserves (40%).
- Circulation Services – including resolving complex circulation problems, assisting users, and processing user appeals (40%).
- Additional Duties – including support for operations, unit/departmental projects, and procedure review (20%).
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of applicable library technical experience, including one year beyond the entry level OR equivalent education/experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Ex Libris's Alma and Primo systems.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 25-50 pound boxes and crates and push heavy book trucks.
- Ability to travel between branch libraries spread across the University of Washington Seattle campus.
Pay
Pay Range Minimum: $45,144.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum: $54,468.00 annual
