About the role
The Omaha Branch Office Manager will oversee the sales, business planning, and growth strategies for the office. They will also manage the office’s financial results, project management, cost control, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage the development and implementation of objectives, programs, procedures, and initiatives for the office.
- Ensure profitable and sound growth by achieving stated financial targets and standards.
- Manage office financials to generate a positive net return.
- Oversee office-wide billability and utilization goals, including managing work assignments and reviewing performance to ensure efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
- Champion sales and marketing activities, identifying opportunities and managing team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, and related activities.
- Provide technical advice and senior-level input and evaluation on projects.
- Lead go/no-go evaluations, establish project work plans, and review fee estimates. Participate in project risk reviews as needed.
- Offer counsel, assistance, and problem resolution to office employees, guided by company policies.
- Develop and retain managers and staff by interpreting policies, purposes, and goals of the organization, ensuring quality and safety standards, and adhering to Burns & McDonnell Quality Control and Safety programs.
- Support recruitment efforts and handle all human resources-related matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction, science, or a related field from an accredited institution, with 13 years of related management experience, including 5 or more years managing an office with multiple technical disciplines.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet financial goals, manage projects, conduct business development, sales and marketing, recruit and retain staff.
- Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered.
- Previous consulting experience is preferred.
