Colonial Electric Supply - the premier supplier of commercial electrical and lighting components—is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager to take full ownership of our Richmond, VA market. We are not looking for a passive supervisor; we want an impact-driven operational leader. You will command our local distribution hub, mentor a dedicated team, and strategically expand our market share.
Executive Responsibilities
- Drive Branch Profitability: Oversee all profit and loss (P&L) operations, optimize inventory control, manage branch budgets, and streamline production costs to maximize revenue growth.
- Command Supply Chain Operations: Direct all distribution, warehousing, logistics, and inside/outside sales operations in alignment with corporate strategy.
- Scale the Sales Pipeline: Actively manage key account relationships, identify new business development opportunities, and collaborate with industry partners to expand local market services.
- Champion Talent & Culture: Directly manage and mentor a subordinate supervisor and a team of 6+ branch professionals. You will own the lifecycle of your team: interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career pathing. Ensure Operational Compliance: Oversee branch accounting records, maintain strict quality control standards, and enforce safety and operational policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven Leadership Core: Demonstrated success in retail management, warehouse operations, industrial sales, or supply chain leadership - Electrical supply or construction industry distribution preferred.
- Strategic Problem Solver: Ability to analyze metrics, build efficient resource plans for labor and materials, and resolve customer and operational challenges calmly under pressure.
- Talent Developer: Passion for assessing employee competencies, delivering targeted training, and fostering a culture of internal promotion.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; OR 2+ years of related management/sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on leadership training.
