About the Role

Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch. Ensures established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees provision of a full range of services to customers and prospective customers, ensuring prompt and professional service. Trains, directs, and supervises branch staff. Accountable for maximizing revenues, sales, and customer satisfaction while minimizing operational losses and customer attrition. Responsible for the successful implementation of promotional campaigns and product initiatives at the branch level. Incumbents may be sales-focused (with business development goals) or service-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and potential, including hiring, job assignments, performance monitoring, coaching, counseling, training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination.
  • Ensure the branch achieves assigned loan production and sales goals by developing and managing a sales culture, including product knowledge, sales strategy, planning, data infrastructure, techniques, cross-selling, referrals, training, coaching, and recognition systems.
  • Train personnel in all job phases, complete orientation for new employees, and ensure staff stays updated on products and services. Conduct security training.
  • Prepare month-end management reports to update executive management on branch activities. Provide employees with sales tracking reports, coaching, and feedback to meet sales and service objectives.
  • Ensure all branch transactions are balanced daily and oversee individual accountability for cash handling. Assist in resolving balancing problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external inquiries.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of the office building, grounds, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Ensure customer requests and complaints are promptly resolved. Inform customers of company services and policies, and counsel them on financial needs.
  • Develop and implement the annual department budget; review monthly to analyze variances and control expenditures.
  • Serve as the primary security officer for the branch. Conduct required security meetings, open/close the building according to set hours, and test security equipment quarterly.
  • Monitor industry trends in lending and deposit operations to inform research and development, ensuring the company’s products and services remain competitive.
  • Manage and oversee expenses, pursuing cost-saving measures.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
