About the role

The Branch Manager in Training (BMIT) position is a performance-based, hands-on, customer-focused role responsible for delivering results related to individual and branch sales goals as well as customer expectations. This position requires compliance with all federal and state regulations and adherence to company policies, procedures, and practices. The BMIT role is developmental, intended to lead to a Branch Sales Manager position.

Responsibilities

  • Actively assist in meeting the Branch’s performance metrics as defined by management.
  • Utilize sales tools to provide an exceptional customer experience and drive customer acquisition through sales and marketing techniques inside and outside the branch.
  • Responsible for day-to-day servicing of an ever-growing consumer loan portfolio.
  • Present financial solutions based on customer needs and goals.
  • Develop new relationships and maintain existing ones throughout the loan process and lifecycle.
  • Educate customers on loan terms and conditions to ensure clarity.
  • Build trust with customers and internal staff by embodying the company’s philosophy, core values, and purpose.
  • Deploy and track marketing efforts in the community to generate sales and customer growth.
  • Assist in managing the P&L to meet budgeted numbers and management’s expectations.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate cash controls and follow security procedures per company and Loss Prevention standards.
  • Enter customer and transaction information accurately into the point-of-sale system and maintain accurate customer files.
  • Perform and document collection calls, field visits, and other approved collection activities.
  • Work closely with and support others in a positive, team environment to enhance the customer experience.
  • Responsible for day-to-day branch operations under the supervision of the Branch Sales Manager and Divisional Director of Operations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Sales and/or customer service experience required, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: sales, retail, banking, or collections.
  • Strong math skills, including the ability to count cash.
  • Professional verbal communication skills by phone and in person.
  • Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply complex and detailed information.
  • Ability to work alone and interact professionally.
  • Ability to negotiate payment terms and effectively communicate loan requirements.
  • Understanding of and ability to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing the industry.
  • Ability to use computer programs required to process customer transactions.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and follow procedures.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for long periods of time; sitting occasionally; walking, including extended distances.
  • Bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, twisting.
  • Frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
  • Driving and access to insured, reliable transportation during the workday for tasks including banking, marketing, and staffing coverage.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements as encountered in daily life.
  • Typing, data entry, grasping, transferring items between hands or to another person/receptacle.
  • Housekeeping/cleaning duties (vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, bathrooms, etc.), including exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Use of office equipment, including computers.
  • Ability to travel to and be physically present at any center within the division to complete job requirements.

Schedule

  • Regular and punctual attendance required.
  • Schedules may be changed as needed to accommodate business needs.
  • Overtime may be required.

Must be 18 (except in AL where the age requirement is 19), eligible to work in the USA, and able to successfully complete all post-offer screens, including a criminal background check, MVR, credit check if required by state law, and reference check. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to insured, reliable transportation. Ability to travel within the division for marketing, collections, staffing, special events, and banking responsibilities.

Attire: Business casual, including polos, blouses, collared shirts, sweaters, or other professional attire with slacks or jeans and appropriate shoes.
