About the role
The Branch Manager is a working supervisor responsible for performing customer service functions, managing retail staff, and supporting the overall sales effort.
Responsibilities
- Aid in developing policies and manuals for the branch.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance issues related to the bank.
- Track performance indicators for the branch, such as new accounts and electronic service penetration.
- Schedule branch meetings to discuss branch and bank activity.
- Support customers with retail banking and consumer lending needs.
- Handle customer inquiries and transactions according to bank policies.
- Monitor and enforce customer service procedures and staff training.
- Manage and coach retail staff, conducting performance reviews.
- Affirm appropriate scheduling to cover peak customer traffic periods.
- Develop and conduct training sessions covering security, regulatory compliance, and other operational issues.
- Participate in sales efforts, assisting in achieving sales goals.
- Assist in various bank activities as needed.
- Manage and coach staff, including employee selection, training, motivation, and performance monitoring.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Work collaboratively as part of the bank's team.
Requirements
Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance issues related to the bank, including the ability to work with the Compliance Department to ensure procedures and policies are in accordance with regulations. Demonstrated application of regulations in day-to-day operations and dissemination of information to co-workers. Competency using online and mobile banking products, ability to troubleshoot common questions and concerns, and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely.
