About the Role
The Branch Operations Manager leads day-to-day operations, drives revenue and service growth, and ensures safe, efficient, high-quality performance across the branch. This role builds strong customer and supplier relationships, improves processes, and develops a high-performing team that consistently delivers operational and financial results.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the direction, strategies, and implementation of all programs for branch operations.
- Review, improve, and oversee marketing and advertising programs at each branch.
- Develop and oversee policies and procedures for purchasing, inventory management, quality assurance, health and safety, education, and training.
- Work closely with engineering to support new product development and successful installation.
- Collaborate effectively with Marketing, Engineering, and all other functions.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, good judgment, and consistent high-level results.
- Oversee scheduling and dispatch efficiency; ensure consistent operating hours.
- Drive residential and commercial sales growth.
- Develop contractor and builder relationships.
- Create strategies to obtain new accounts and strengthen existing relationships.
- Develop specific growth strategies for:
- Increasing product sales across the entire product line.
- Boosting parts and service sales (a major focus area).
- Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the business.
- Contribute to the company’s marketing and sales planning and development efforts.
- Communicate new business opportunities and market intelligence to the company.
- Demonstrate effective negotiating skills in all interactions.
- Develop and maintain programs and relationships with key suppliers.
- Own full P&L responsibility, including budget development and cost control.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts and reports.
- Review and participate in developing management information systems, internal policies, processes, and controls to identify and manage business risks.
- Hire, coach, and hold team members accountable.
- Ensure wage/hour and safety compliance.
- Report energizing industry trends to management and R&D staff.
- Own branch Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) performance and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Implement and enforce safe-work practices in office, warehouse, and field operations (e.g., lockout/tagout, lifting/rigging, ladder use, powered equipment).
- Ensure PPE usage and training compliance for employees and subcontractors at shops and job sites.
- Oversee incident/near-miss reporting and root-cause analysis; drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct and oversee regular safety inspections and toolbox talks; track and resolve findings.
- Complete special assignments or tasks as determined by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in the door industry, building products, construction trades, or closely related service-based industries.
- Direct experience in the overhead door industry providing products, installation, and service to businesses and/or end users via a field-deployed workforce is highly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Engineering, is required.
Skills
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic while maintaining strict confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Demonstrated success managing full P&L responsibility (budgeting, forecasting, margin management, operational KPIs) for a branch, business unit, or multi-team operation is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong listening skills.
- Dynamic, engaging leadership presence with strong relationship-building skills that inspire enthusiasm and alignment both internally and with external partners.

- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and proficiency with numbers; understanding of the construction industry, including plans and specifications.
- Understanding of pricing and P&L as they relate to customers.

- Resilience and strong personal tenacity; willingness to take calculated risks, learn from setbacks, and continuously improve performance.
Work Conditions
- Mix of office, warehouse, and field environments, including exposure to noise, equipment, and outdoor conditions.
- Occasional use of PPE when entering operational or job-site areas.
- Fast-paced setting with shifting priorities; may require extended hours as business needs arise.
- Occasional travel for meetings, training, or site visits.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move between offices, warehouse, and job-site environments.
- Ability to lift 25–40 lbs. occasionally and navigate stairs or uneven surfaces as needed.
