Branch Engineer
Description
- Develop crane layouts and rigging drawings for lift plans using Barnhart’s custom lifting tools.
- Create layout drawings for heavy machinery moving projects utilizing various Barnhart tools such as gantries, slide systems, modular trailers, lift & hoist towers, and more.
- Create drawings for heavy transportation projects using modular trailers for over-the-road hauling, on-site hauling, and barge roll-on/roll-off projects.
- Use engineering software like AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, RISA, and Barnhart calculation spreadsheets to develop solutions for heavy lift and transport projects.
- Auxiliary duties include assisting Sales Personnel in field walk-down assessments, creating equipment lists, identifying potential issues, and providing technical sketches for project bids.
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents on job sites by addressing changes to project plans, which may involve working from the office or at the job site.
- Design custom lifting or support tools for job-specific needs using engineering standards such as the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ASME Design of Below-the-Hook Lifting Devices, and other industry standards.
- Act as a field technical liaison for complex projects, performing roles as a risk manager and conducting safety and quality evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Civil or Mechanical Degree with a 3.0 minimum GPA
