Program Highlights
- 2-year paid apprenticeship (6 semesters, including summers)
- Attend classes to complete your Associate of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Degree at Elgin Community College (ECC)
- Start working July 2026; classes begin August 2026
- Work 40 hours per week split between branch experience and college classes

Branch Apprentice Role Overview
This hybrid role combines responsibilities of a Concierge, Teller, and Personal Banker. You will:
- Greet and assist members in person and through drive-up lanes
- Support self-service ITM transactions
- Perform teller tasks, resolve member service issues, perform account maintenance
- Open consumer accounts accurately and efficiently
- ID and refer members to lending, mortgage, and wealth services
- Recommend process improvements
- Follow all compliance, audit, and operational standards
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Age 18+ by July 1, 2026
- 1+ year of experience in retail, customer service, guest relations, sales, and cash handling
- Ability to commit to a 40-hour Monday–Friday schedule
- Acceptance into ECC’s AAS program
- Strong communication, multitasking, and teamwork skills
- Intermediate computer skills (MS office, data entry, intranet/internet, email)
- Desire to grow a career in banking/financial services
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage is $19.00/hour
- Position is eligible for incentives, an annual bonus opportunity, and merit increases
- Eligible employees can participate in medical, dental, vision, spending accounts, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and other plans effective date of hire
- You can participate in the 401(k) savings plan at any time
- You will be automatically enrolled in the pension plan following six months of employment and 1,000 hours of service and reaching age 20
