Job Description AriensCo is seeking an experienced Brake Press Technician to set up, adjust, and operate press brakes of various sizes to perform metal fabrication operations, including forming, bending, punching, and notching. This role is responsible for determining the sequence of multi-pass operations required to achieve precise bends on complex parts and components. The technician will work from engineering drawings, specifications, patterns, and templates to ensure products meet quality and dimensional requirements. Pay: Starts at $22/hour + $4,000 sign on bonusSchedule & Shift: Monday - Thursday (4 days x 10 hours); 4AM-2PM THE DAY TO DAY… Machine Operator duties & responsibilitiesSafe operation of all machining and toolingLive and promote the Ariens Core Values and 15 PrinciplesOperate press brake machine.Run, bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches.Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or lead assistanceLoad, install and correctly set-up the tools requiredUse a CNC controller to input information into machine.Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.Check height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.Work with tight tolerances.Produce parts for assembly operations.Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.Perform spot inspections of parts.Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.Complete and maintain paperwork.Identify assembly parts.Set up light gauge metal.Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel).Check machine for defects and repair if necessary.Ensure machine is calibrated and cleaned.Read drawings and blueprints. The Qualifications… Ability to communicate effectively by applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructionsMust have strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background.Basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press and/or punch operations including basic set up is desired.Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.Demonstrated competency in Blueprint readingAbility to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance.Preferred experience with overhead cranePreferred understanding of welding processes and techniquesCapable of performing multiple fabrication processes adhering to standard workAbility to effectively train others per standard workPreferred experience with TWI THE WORK ENVIRONMENT… Ability to stand for 8+ hours a dayMust be able to use hands to position parts in placeAble to lift up to 35 pounds at varying frequenciesMust wear required Personal Protective EquipmentDesire for personal development and growthAbility to work as part of a team Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
