Bracing Channel Operator 2nd shift

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm–2:00 am, with mandatory overtime on Fridays and Saturdays based on business need.

Pay

$19.21 to $20.59 per hour plus a 10 % shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a roll-forming machine and cut-off shear to produce braces of various sizes and lengths according to standard methods and procedures.
• Load coils of steel onto the unreeler and align the reel with the rolling mill.
• Use a TIG welder to splice the beginning of a new coil to the end of the preceding strip.
• Clean welds with an electric hand sander.
• Start the machine to feed stock into the rolls and through to the cut-off station.
• Inspect parts for size, shape, length, and straightness; make necessary adjustments to the automatic cut-off for required length and verify with a tape measure.
• Start the machine for automatic operation and monitor throughout the production run.
• Record production data, steel lot numbers, document problems, and other required information.
• Detect and report equipment malfunctions, unusual situations, or other problems to the team leader.
• Follow all safety rules, regulations, and practices.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other similar duties as assigned by the operator or supervisor.
