BPS Quality Production Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Champion Safety
- Bicarb Packaging and Shipping (BPS) Quality Performance
- Foster team, culture, and ownership of plant metric performance
- Lead and answer customer complaint investigations for BPS
- Lead studies for process validation and deliver reports on findings
- Affords BPS CAPA, Deviation, Internal Audit, Supplier Quality, Validation, and Document/Record Management program
- BPS RCA facilitator
- BPS Document Control Coordinator
- BPS MOC Coordinator
- Manage BPS in process labs
- Review BPS preventive controls for compliance (food/feed)
- Manage process engineering improvements
- Support maintenance and electrical engineering in project execution
- Ensure environmental compliance
- Lead Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and regulatory compliance Activities
- Daily plant tours and housekeeping audits
- Identify best practices and implement within plant
- Review BPS log sheets daily
- Communicate reasons for success when production targets are achieved and provide solutions when there are performance deviations
- Assist crew in monitoring process samples
- Assist Unit Manager with capital planning
- Management of Change (MOC) Process
- Identify cost savings, and efficiency improvement projects
- Oversee short interval controls
- Off-shift BPS on call duties
- Ensure compliance with product specific regulatory and customer requirements
Skill, Capability, And Educational Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry or other Physical Sciences degree with two years of regulated engineering experience strongly preferred, will consider significant FDA and API experience in lieu of science degree
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- FDA regulated experience a plus

About the Role
We are seeking a BPS Quality Production Engineer to join our team at WE Soda. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, chemistry, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of regulated engineering experience. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, though significant FDA and API experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality standards across all BPS processes, ensuring that all products meet food, feed, and API requirements. They will also be responsible for leading investigations into customer complaints, conducting process validations, and managing various quality assurance initiatives.
This position requires a demonstrated ability to lead teams, foster a positive work environment, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
