Box Truck Driver

About the Role

The Box Truck Driver coordinates and participates in the receipt, storage, loading and unloading, delivery, and inventory of materials. This role ensures specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct, verifies stock, identifies losses, and ensures the safe operation of vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicles to transport orders and materials to designated sites.
• Loads delivery vehicles, ensuring all items and supplies are properly secured.
• Maintains files and records (e.g., Bill of Lading, Delivery Documents) to document activities and provide reliable resource information.
• Maintains and inspects vehicles (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning) to ensure safe operation.
• Participates in physical inventories to verify stock and identify losses.
• Prepares orders by pulling stock to meet delivery requirements.
• Receives stock and non-stock items, ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct and inspecting items for damage.
• Stocks equipment and supplies to maintain required inventory levels.
• Loads and unloads items to distribute shipments to assigned site locations and/or individuals.
• Delivers products to customers in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
• Coordinates with customers prior to and during delivery to determine product placement.
• Follows all State/Federal DOT regulations and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL B).
• Clean driving record.
• Adherence to safety practices.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds; some products may be heavier.
