Box Truck Driver

About the role

Englert is looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. As a box truck driver, you will be reporting directly to the warehouse manager. Join our highly collaborative team where you will be able to grow your career.

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Pickup full trailer loads from one location and delivers them to destination location on a daily basis
• Ensure timely and safe delivery of all loads
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Maintain proper documentation for all deliveries
• Occasional help with offloading materials at delivery sites
• Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations
• Report defects, accidents, or violations

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and clients

Qualifications

• Valid truck driving license
• Active Medical Card
• Driver's License Class A or B CDL is required
• Two years' driving experience

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of driving
• Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds with assistance
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment
• Perform tasks such as lifting 15 pounds at a time, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up work in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment
• Physical ability to walk and stand on concrete for the duration of the work shift, in increments of up to 6-8 hours
