About the role
Englert is looking for an experienced truck driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. As a box truck driver, you will be reporting directly to the warehouse manager. Join our highly collaborative team where you will be able to grow your career.
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Pickup full trailer loads from one location and delivers them to destination location on a daily basis
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of all loads
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Maintain proper documentation for all deliveries
- Occasional help with offloading materials at delivery sites
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and clients
Qualifications
- Valid truck driving license
- Active Medical Card
- Driver's License Class A or B CDL is required
- Two years' driving experience
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of driving
- Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds with assistance
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment
- Perform tasks such as lifting 15 pounds at a time, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up work in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment
- Physical ability to walk and stand on concrete for the duration of the work shift, in increments of up to 6-8 hours
