Responsibilities
- Main point of contact for guests and clients to purchase and pick up Grand Theatre event tickets.
- Responsible for check-out procedures as they pertain to the Box Office.
- Inform guests about upcoming Grand Theatre events and explain services and prices.
- Provide exceptional guest service, problem solving skills, and ticketing system knowledge including Ticketmaster and web-based box office services.
- Make, return, and follow up on calls to maintain proper communication with clients, guests, team members, and corporate management.
- Process and sell Grand Theatre tickets for events in person and on the phone for the Box Office.
- Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
Requirements
- Work with interruptions and perform multiple tasks while remaining collected in high-pressure situations.
- Handle guests and team members in a tactful and respectful manner.
- Ability to perform complex reading, simple writing, math, and task completion.
- Skills required: clerical, compiling, coordination, instructing, following instructions, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Minimum 1 year experience in box office operation is preferred, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Demands
- Constantly sitting; frequently standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending over; occasionally crouching and kneeling during the shift.
- Occasionally push/pull and lift/carry 10 lbs or less.
- Occasionally have repetitive use of both feet.
- Constantly have repetitive use of both hands and frequent light grasping motions.
- Occasionally use firm/strong grasping motion.
- Constant finger dexterity of both hands required.
- Constant use of vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
Work Environment
- Work performed indoors, alone and frequently with and around others.
- Face-to-face interactions, including verbal contact with others in possible confined areas around computer equipment and other electrical devices.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
- May be exposed to vibrations, fumes/odor, and/or secondhand smoke.
