About the role

The Bowling and Events Manager oversees the sales, profits, staffing, image, and operation of the bowling department, including rentals and parties. This position also manages the administrative aspects of business goals in revenues, expenses, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales and profit projections of the bowling department, including rentals and parties.
  • Maintains consistent presence on the floor to provide personal sales support and troubleshoot store issues.
  • Directs and supervises department supervisors to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and sales goals.
  • Trains BO employees at all levels on day-to-day procedures.
  • Holds weekly staff meetings to address operations, staffing, customer service, and other issues.
  • Writes and updates operations manuals for departments.
  • Prepares and presents performance evaluations and counseling notices to direct reports.
  • Supports promotional activities and contributes to an effective working environment.
  • Ensures the facility is clean and organized.
  • Assists in ensuring safety standards and compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and resolves complaints.
  • Orders and maintains supply stock.
  • Manages employee motivation, conflict resolution, and performance feedback.
  • Conducts audits and prepares reports for store management.
  • Enforces compliance with safety and loss prevention regulations.
  • Improves store processes and assists in research and development.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old to handle or serve alcohol.
  • Some college preferred but not required; 3 to 5 years of work experience in a bowling, entertainment, or hospitality industry.
  • Customer service experience in a similar or comparable work environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Operational skills with great time management.
  • Previous experience in retail/restaurant or customer service environment, preferably in a bowling or game center.
  • Ability to lead by example.
