Boston Whaler - Quality Supervisor III
Position Overview
To provide leadership and business understanding to quality inspectors / water test captains. The Supervisor position is accountable to ensure quality, engineering, and customer expectations are met, while contributing to customer satisfaction by creating value while assuring profitability of the business.
Essential Functions
- Cook up and final inspection including lamination, T&G, PI, assembly, tests, and final approvals.
- Conducts process / product audits to ensure compliance with company and ABYC / NMMA requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate to identify issue root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators through its area of responsibility.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of all inspection records.
- Document discrepancies noted during inspection.
- Participate in new product development by working with product integration teams, as well as new product core teams.
- Support and conduct training to support compliance to standard operating procedures.
- Select and develop employees to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Ensure communications are accurate and timely and reach all employees in the supervisor’s area of responsibility.
- Utilize and maintain standard work.
- Maintain team members time and attendance records.
- Evaluate team members performance.
- Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with Company Policy.
Required Qualifications
- Communicate safety expectations and hold employees/leaders accountable to those standards.
- Lead meetings with Supervisor Group as assigned by Manager.
- Lead day to day coordination between supervisors (people movement outside of dept).
- Work directly through other superiors to achieve this.
- Mentor and grow other supervisors.
- May have direct responsibility over other supervisors.
- Has direct leadership over special projects or programs.
- Leads cross functional teams for major changes or improvements.
- Participate in quality non-conformance communication and problem solving.
- Lead others to model the behavioral values of the company.
- Employee Value Proposition/Leadership Values and lead direct team to do so.
- Lead with the correct "How" consistently and lead direct team to do so.
- Utilize Emotional Intelligence to influence peer group’s behaviors and views and lead direct team to do so.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency with tasks and lead direct team to do so.
- Clear, accurate and concise communication.
- Set clear expectations for each employee and help them achieve their goals and lead direct team to do so.
- Be involved and/or lead continuous improvement projects based on production performance data and lead direct team to do so.
- Provide performance feedback to operators (good and bad).

Working Conditions
- Shop floor working environment.
- Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.
- Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
Pay and Benefits
The hiring range for this position is $70,600 - $101,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
