Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading a team, improving financial processes, and supporting business operations through timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping expertise, leadership experience, and a customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
- Perform month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including analyzing and presenting reports on financial status, in-depth reports on identified issues, and complex financial data.
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
- Ensure the company's financial systems are compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with the property management team to manage financial data and provide financial guidance.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a bookkeeping or financial management role.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience with month-end close, financial schedules, journal entry preparation, general ledger, and property management.
- Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong ethical code.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in Real Estate or Property Management is preferred.
