Bookkeeper / Project Accounting
About the role
LF Studios is seeking a Project Accounting Coordinator to support the financial management of our custom fabrication, exhibit, and experiential projects. This is a hands-on, in-office role based in Blue Ash, Ohio, ideal for someone who enjoys working with project teams, tracking costs, analyzing budgets, and ensuring financial accuracy throughout the lifecycle of complex, one-of-a-kind projects.
Responsibilities
- Monitor project budgets for labor, materials, and subcontracted services then reconcile those budgets with projected expenses for each variable.
- Review and code vendor invoices, purchase transactions, and employee expenses to the appropriate projects.
- Aid in job costing and project profitability analysis.
- Prepare weekly budget-versus-actual (delta) reports and be able to explain cost variances.
- Aid in Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and month-end close activities.
- Maintain accurate project financial records and supporting documentation.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers to improve cost visibility and financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support project closeout by ensuring all costs are captured prior to project closure.
- Support expense management using RAMP Financial or similar “Procure to Purchase” platforms.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or project support experience using QuickBooks Online.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with project accounting, job costing, manufacturing, construction, or other project-based businesses.
- Experience preparing budget-to-actual reports, variance analyses, or cost analyses.
- Familiarity with purchase orders, vendor management, and accrual accounting.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
