Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of daily financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Absorb assistance with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations, as needed.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory balances, investigate discrepancies, and assist with inventory adjustments.
- Support inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Absorb assist with job costing, product costing, or work-in-process (WIP) accounting when applicable.
- Prepare financial reports and provide supporting documentation for management.
- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Absorb support external accountants and auditors by preparing requested documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other accounting projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent bookkeeping experience will also be considered.
- Required Experience: 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and general accounting practices. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Experience using accounting software or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Preferred Experience: Previous bookkeeping experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with inventory management, inventory reconciliation, or inventory valuation. Knowledge of job costing, product costing, bill of materials (BOMs), or work-in-process (WIP) accounting is highly preferred. Experience supporting manufacturing operations through financial reporting and inventory controls.
