Bookkeeper

About the role

A Bookkeeper at JAK Travel Agency will work directly on financial record integrity in support of custom cruises, tours, destination celebrations, groups, reservations, and traveler follow-through. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records within group travel operations, ensuring incomplete information is addressed before it causes downstream rework. Success is measured by keeping financial records current, assigning ownership to exceptions, and enabling seamless continuity for authorized teammates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Bookkeeper workflow by reviewing financial inputs against supporting records.
• Track and reconcile discrepancies before reporting or processing.
• Own and track unresolved financial exceptions.
• Coordinate and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Review and protect confidential account information.

Skills

• Use financial controls and cruise/tour support confidently in group travel operations.
• Apply transaction review without losing track of exceptions, owners, or deadlines.
• Document invoice review decisions clearly for teammate continuity.
• Exercise sound judgment around confidentiality, especially during escalations.

Pay

Base salary: $45,000–$65,000 per year.

Schedule

Full-time, 100% remote within the United States.
