Jackson Hewitt is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our team in Bristol, VA! Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis
• Process payroll and ensure timely, accurate employee compensation
• Prepare and generate financial reports, summaries, and statements
• Monitor and track expenses, budgets, and cash flow
• Assist with tax preparation support and financial documentation as needed
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar financial role
• Proficiency in bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and discretion
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
