About the role
We are seeking a skilled Staff Data Engineer to join our growing Analytics Engineering team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, working closely with other engineers and scientists to ensure data quality and integrity, and contributing to the development of new analytical tools and models.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, statisticians, and software developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.
- Develop and maintain robust data storage and retrieval systems.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new analytical tools and models to support our mission of conquering infectious diseases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
