Bookkeeper
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. In this role, you will support the organization by overseeing general ledger activity, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end close processes. You will work closely with leadership to monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting, leveraging your experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and a solid understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheet accounts.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, up to date, and in compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with leadership.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data and account balances in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized and complete financial documentation to support audits, internal reviews, and reporting requirements.
- Assist with month-end close processes by posting journal entries, reviewing account balances, and preparing supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with team members in the office to support ongoing financial operations and provide clear, accurate information as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel preferred, including the ability to organize and analyze financial data.
- Solid understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Experience with account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial entries and reports.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Consistent attendance and strong reliability in an on-site work setting.
Qualifications
- Background in bookkeeping or accounting support within a small business or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and office team members about financial information.
- Comfort working closely with company leadership in a small, tight-knit office environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify, research, and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Ability to maintain well-organized financial files and documentation for audits and reporting.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in a family-owned and operated concrete manufacturing business. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in a close-knit office environment, collaborating directly with company leadership. Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
