Bookkeeper

About the role

Position Overview: The Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the company's day-to-day accounting activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on bookkeeping experience and is comfortable working with high transaction volumes, multiple sales channels, inventory-related transactions, and accounts payable/receivable.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, including reviewing invoices, coding expenses, and preparing payments.
• Assist with accounts receivable and customer/payment reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and accounting records.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Maintain organized financial files and documentation.
• Assist with financial reporting and provide accounting information as requested.
• Support the Finance team with audits, tax preparation, and other financial projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Finance and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in e-commerce, retail, distribution, or inventory-based businesses is strongly preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
• Experience with inventory accounting or product-based businesses.
• Experience processing sales tax and multi-state e-commerce transactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is a plus, but not required with relevant experience.
