Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist

About the role

Vailes Brothers is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of a growing plumbing, HVAC, remodeling, and home services company. This role plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and accounting functions, and helping leadership make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain financial records
• Prepare monthly financial reports
• Monitor cash flow
• Assist with job costing
• Coincide financing documentation
• Support tax preparation activities
• Help ensure accurate year-end financial reporting

Qualifications

• At least five years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience
• Strong QuickBooks proficiency
• Experience processing payroll, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills preferred
• Experience working within construction, HVAC, plumbing, remodeling, home services, or other project-based industries highly desirable
