Bookkeeper/Accounting Specialist
Rolluda Architects LLC, an architecture, interior design, and project management firm located in Pioneer Square, Downtown Seattle, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to support financial operations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the monthly close process, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The successful candidate will analyze accounting and financial information, identify inconsistencies, and provide recommendations to management. This position requires strong bookkeeping knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with Deltek Ajera Project Management software. Initially part-time starting October 2026, the role is expected to transition to full-time in January 2027.
Responsibilities
- Daily Accounting Operations
- Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments.
- Prepare and issue client invoices and support accounts receivable collections.
- Enter and maintain financial transactions in Deltek Ajera.
- Record cash receipts, deposits, expense reports, and credit card transactions.
- Review source documents for accuracy, coding, approvals, and completeness.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Assist project managers with project financial information and reporting.
- Bank and Account Reconciliations
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
- Reconcile project-related costs and revenue transactions.
- Maintain schedules and documentation for all reconciliations.
- Month-End and Year-End Close
- Support weekly, monthly, and annual closing activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Review account activity and determine necessary accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
- Maintain updated balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Support year-end audit and tax preparation processes.
- Payroll and Compliance
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations.
- Maintain employee reimbursement records.
- Support preparation of tax documents and regulatory filings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Compile, analyze, and summarize financial and operational data.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Identify accounting inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Produce financial reports related to project profitability, cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Support management with ad hoc financial analysis.
- Internal Controls
- Maintain accurate accounting records and support documentation.
- Ensure adherence to established internal control procedures.
- Assist in developing and improving accounting processes and workflows.
- Safeguard confidential financial information.
Requirements
A successful candidate will:
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting records with minimal supervision.
- Complete reconciliations and month-end close tasks on schedule.
- Ensure invoices, payments, and journal entries are processed accurately.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide reliable financial information to leadership and project managers.
- Effectively utilize Deltek Ajera to support project accounting and reporting.
- Contribute to a strong internal control and compliance environment.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in an architecture, engineering, consulting, or professional services firm.
- Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Experience with project-based accounting environments is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation practices for A/E/C firms with government contracts.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Deltek Ajera.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookups.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.

Schedule
This position will initially be hired on a part-time basis in October 2026 and is expected to transition to full-time employment in January 2027.
