Job Requirements (What You’ll Do)
- Control & Instrumentation - Inspect, test, calibrate, and replace electrical control components.
- Electrical Troubleshooting - Diagnose electrical faults across boiler control circuits using multimeters. Trace wiring issues, identify failed components, and resolve intermittent faults systematically.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and control panel drawings to isolate root causes quickly and accurately.
- Burner Management & Combustion Tuning - Service and maintain burner management systems and flame safeguard controllers (Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens, Cleaver-Brooks, and similar). Perform combustion analysis using flue gas analyzers. Tune air-to-fuel ratios across the full firing range to optimize efficiency, minimize emissions, and maintain safe operation.
- Adjust and verify modulation control, high/low fire setpoints, and burner sequencing.
- Preventative Maintenance - Perform scheduled electrical PM tasks on all boiler control systems. Conduct annual safety device testing including low-water cutoff, high-limit, and flame failure response per code and insurance requirements.
- Startups - Execute electrical commissioning on new installations and post-repair boiler systems. Verify wiring, confirm control power, and test all interlocks and safety devices prior to first fire. Confirm proper sequencing, safety shutdown function, and setpoint configuration. Perform and document initial combustion analysis at startup.
- Document all work, parts, and notes in NetSuite mobile.
- Work independently in the field while coordinating with the service, parts, and sales team.
