Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Diagnose and service boilers and related equipment.
- Fine-tune combustion and control settings (various fuel types).
- Prepare boilers for inspections.
- Perform mechanical and electrical installations.
- Startup boilers for the heating season.
- Manage start-up tasks for new installations.
- Handle minor electrical and plumbing work.
- Assist Boilermakers with repairs.
- Maintain documentation for jobs.
- Embrace other assigned duties.
Required Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 4-5 years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of boiler operations desirable.
- Pump and motor experience a plus.
- Plumbing and electrical certifications beneficial.
- Previous pipefitting and plumbing experience advantageous.
- Familiarity with computer-operated boiler controls preferred.
- Minor welding and oxygen cutting skills a bonus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50lbs+.
- Proficiency in ladder, forklift, and scissor lift usage.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
- Adaptability to varying temperatures.
- Willingness to work a rotating On-Call schedule.
Working Conditions
- Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, as well as in an office-controlled environment.
- Often work with hazardous equipment such as gas torches and power grinders as well as in confined, cramped spaces.
- Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE when required.
- Visits may require standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over, crouching and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, and ladders.
- Some travel required.
