Boiler Operator - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Mixed Shift

Responsibilities

• Starts and stops boilers and adjusts controls to maintain required steam supply.
• Maintains monitoring of boiler firing rate, flame conditions, water level, flue temperature, and fuel supply.
• Fulfills responsibilities outlined in the Boiler House Procedure Manual, focusing on safety devices and relays on each boiler.
• Ensures regular checks of feed water pumps and supply systems during each shift.
• Verifies the proper operation of Natural Gas system regulators, automatic valves, and vents for leaks and proper functioning each shift.
• Inspects air compressor, dryer, filters, and blow downs during each shift.
• Assesses the condition of the flue gas system, including automatic dampers, damper controllers, and heat recovery equipment for leaks and general condition.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of high-pressure steam boiler operation and repair, with a focus on high-pressure pumps and electro-pneumatic controls.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• A valid Driver's License.

Pay

Pay Range: $19.20 - 26.63
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
