Boiler Operator - St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time - Mixed Shift

Responsibilities

• Starts and stops boilers and adjusts controls to maintain required steam supply.
• Maintains boiler firing rate, flame conditions, water level, flue temperature, and fuel supply.
• Adheres to Boiler House Procedure Manual in checking safety devices and relays on each boiler.
• Checks feed water pumps and supply system each shift.
• Inspects Natural Gas system regulators, automatic valves, and vents for leaks and proper operation each shift.
• Verifies the operation of air compressor, dryer, filters, and blow downs each shift.
• Ensures proper operation of flue gas system including automatic dampers, damper controllers, and heat recovery equipment for leaks and general condition.

Requirements

• 3 years high pressure steam boiler operation and repair preferred with emphasis on high pressure pumps and electro-pneumatic controls.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A valid Driver's License.

Pay

Pay Range: $19.20 - 26.63
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
