Boiler Operator

About the role

We seek an experienced individual for the role of Boiler Operator to operate a boiler in an established company. Nannu Apparels Limited, a subsidiary of Nannu Group, is a 100% export-oriented knit composite initiative. It is a sister concern of prominent companies such as Nannu Spinning Mills Limited (Yarn Production: 92 tons/day), Nannu Textiles Mills Limited (Fabric Production: 153 million meters/year), Bexi Fabrics, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform various tasks in operation and maintenance of a boiler to ensure adequate steam is efficiently and safely generated for use in various processes.
• Manage the boiler and other related machinery, ensuring it is functional and safe at all times.
• Inspect and test safety devices on a daily basis and report any unusual condition.
• Monitor boiler flow system water flow, steam flow, fuel flow, combustion air flow (draft) and make adjustments to keep the boiler operational.
• Ensure the boiler is not over-pressurized or deficient of water.
• Ensure water quality is just right for the boiler operation.
• Activate valves to maintain required amounts of water in the boiler, adjusting supplies of combustion air and control the flow of fuel into the boiler.
• Monitor and inspect equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks or malfunctions.
• Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts registering various aspects of boiler operation.
• Maintain boiler water chemicals safely and add the chemicals as required to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits.
• Thoroughly clean the boiler heating surfaces, external surface, and auxiliary equipment regularly.
• Maintain the boiler house tidy and well-arranged to minimize hazards.
