Body Shop Technician - Lowell, AR

About the role

Complete disassembly and reassembly of cab, hood, and all related body parts of a motor truck. Must be able to repair and prepare body parts for painting. Essential Job Tasks include using all tools of the trade, shop machines, power tools, and welders. Must read and understand blueprints and technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins.

Responsibilities

• Uses all tools of the trade, shop machines, power tools, and welders.
• Maintains personal and shop tools.
• Reads and understands blueprints and technical publications.
• Writes a good description of all work performed on each individual repair.
• Uses or learns to use the computer to punch on and off repair orders.
• Performs repairs in an accepted time standard.
• Performs all tasks in a safe manner.
• Trains helpers in a productive manner.
• Follows Bruckner’s policy and procedures.
• Works with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Three years minimum experience at the truck mechanic trade.
• Must have a CDL drivers license.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to waist high, and 25 pounds to shoulder high.
• Must be able to climb around in the engine compartment, frame areas, and underneath the truck.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education.
• Willingness to take continuing education courses as deemed necessary.
• Ability to speak and understand English for job and safety reasons.

Skills

• Knowledge of diesel or trucking industry.
• Experience with various brands such as Mack, Volvo, Caterpillar, Allison, Cummins, etc.
• Proficiency in computer systems for repair orders.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical publications.
